That’s Why We’re #1
The World’s Largest Tea Party
Coming into this game…..without Bower’s……and with a first year starting QB, every Georgia fan wanted to see who the Dawgs really were. And not just Georgia fans but also college football fans. Everyone wanted to know if Georgia was really number one. And to every college football fan out there, I am thrilled to announce that Georgia is indeed the number 1 team in the country. And to all of the Dawg fans….It’s great to be a gator hater! We are not a perfect team and our offense and defense both need work but they played a great game and they work hard for those wins. Of course there were bad plays…stupid plays even. But we had enough good plays to make it a great game. I don’t care that Florida isn’t ranked. We know in a rivalry like this, both teams play even harder and maybe a little better because both teams want to own the south. The Players get fired up in games like these and so do the fans! Our offense and defense both did good in this game. There were those moments, bad plays and scoreless drives but you get those with every team in every game. But there are things we’ve gotta work on as a team. Beck had some bad plays. Some really bad passes, a sack, maybe an interception and one play that was almost a fumble I believe. I get it, he’s new to the starting position but he’s been watching other guys fight for the spot for years and I am sure he’s learned a lot but he’s gotta show the coaches that when he’s on the field. If you’re not fast enough to run, then don’t and if the guy isn’t open, then don’t pass the football. But no matter what QB is in there and whether it be my pick or not, I’ve gotta learn to support the guy on the field. Maybe you think I would have learned to support the QB on the field the hard way when Bennett was our starter but that was easy because Bennett was my pick at Quarterback. But I do believe one thing that keeps a QB working hard is when he knows his job is on the line and if he doesn’t play good, there’s always that backup QB. I don’t feel like Beck is worried about losing the position and sometimes I think that’s when a QB can get too comfortable. I believe a reason Bennett played so good was not just because he was always wanting to win the game for the team but because he was constantly fighting to keep the starting position. But what matters is that Beck is doing his best. There was one pass to McConkey that was just terrible but in big games you need those big passes to those Wideouts. But I know Beck is working hard and we’ll see how he does against the Tigers tomorrow. Woodring did another great job and made all of his field goals. Without Bower’s, the tight ends did great and had Bower’s on the sidelines helping them. Delp had an awesome catch and run and the one handed catch looked a lot like Bower’s. My dad joked and said that we cloned Bower’s and so we have two of him. But Delp is his own player and he’s doing a great job on the football field. And the fact that Bower’s traveled with the team to Florida is proof of how big of a leader he is in this team. And McConkey, well he had a huge game! It was great to see him out there having a great game with his teammates. And he scored his first touchdown of the season and it was so exciting. He deserves that touchdown and the amazing game he had. He did get hit pretty hard on one play and my dad and I got nervous about his back but he jumped right up and was ready for the next play. The Dawgs did so great! There was more I had to say but this post has been waiting to be posted and I just saw the game vs Missouri last night and so now I’ve got that one to write.
God Bless and Go Dawgs!
